Right to Information

Vikram Dev University is a "public authority" within the meaning of Section 2(h) of the Right to Information Act, 2005, and is fully bound by the obligations under that Act.

How to file an RTI

  1. Write your application in English, Hindi, or Odia (the official languages of communication).
  2. Address it to the Public Information Officer, Vikram Dev University, Po: Jeypore, Dist: Koraput, Odisha, 764 001.
  3. Pay the prescribed fee of ₹ 10 by Indian Postal Order, Demand Draft, or in cash at the University Cash Counter. SC, ST, and BPL applicants are exempt from the fee on production of valid certificate.
  4. For information not available within the University, the application is forwarded to the appropriate public authority under Section 6(3) of the RTI Act.
  5. You will receive a reply, or a transfer-of-application notice, within thirty days from the date of receipt of the application.
  6. If the application concerns the life or liberty of a person, the reply will be issued within forty-eight hours.

If your application is denied or unanswered

You may file a First Appeal with the First Appellate Authority within thirty days of the receipt of the reply, or within thirty days of the expiry of the response period. A second appeal lies with the Odisha Information Commission, Bhubaneswar.

Online RTI

Online RTI applications may also be filed through the Government of India's RTI Online portal where the relevant module for State institutions is enabled.
