Role under the Act
Under the Odisha Universities Act, the Registrar is the principal officer of administration of the University, the custodian of its records and seal, and the convener of the Syndicate. The Registrar issues all official notifications, countersigns degrees and provisional certificates, and is the appointing authority for all administrative posts up to the cadre prescribed under the relevant statutes and ordinances.
Primary responsibilities
- Conduct of meetings of the Senate, Syndicate, Academic Council, and Finance Committee.
- Affiliation, disaffiliation, and inspection of affiliated colleges.
- Notification of the Academic Calendar, Examination Schedule, and Convocation.
- Oversight of the Examinations Section, Accounts Section, and the Records Office.
- Statutory compliance: UGC, NAAC, NIRF, AISHE, RTI, DPDP, RPwD.
- Liaison with the Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha.
