Examination Reform Code · Chapter 7
Revaluation, retotalling, and recheck
What each option means
- Recheck
- The script is checked for unevaluated answers, addition errors, and transcription mistakes between the script and the mark-sheet. It is not a re-evaluation of the answer.
- Retotalling
- The marks are added up again. Any arithmetic error is corrected and the result amended.
- Revaluation
- The script is independently re-evaluated by a second examiner not connected to the original evaluation. If the new mark differs from the original by 10% or more (in either direction), the higher mark is recorded.
How to apply
- Within fifteen days of result publication, log in to your student dashboard.
- Select the paper, choose the option (recheck, retotalling, or revaluation), and confirm.
- Pay the prescribed fee through the State payment gateway.
- You will receive an acknowledgement number and a status link.
Statutory turnaround
Outcomes are notified to the candidate within thirty days of receipt of the application. Where the original mark is amended, an updated mark-sheet is issued and the result is rectified in the University records and the DigiLocker copy.
Fee schedule
| Option | Fee |
|---|---|
| Recheck | ₹ 200 |
| Retotalling | ₹ 100 |
| Revaluation | ₹ 500 |
Where revaluation results in a mark uplift of 10% or more, the fee is refunded to the candidate's account within fifteen working days.
Grievance escalation
If the outcome is not communicated within thirty days, the candidate may escalate to the University Grievance Cell, and onward to UGC e-Samadhaan.
