Admissions

Admissions to Vikram Dev University and its over-seventy-five affiliated colleges are conducted through the unified State portals operated by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha, with University-administered admissions for professional programmes (BBA, MBA) and research (Ph.D., M.Phil.).

Admission process at a glance

  1. Read the prospectus

    Confirm eligibility, fee structure, intake, and reservation. Available as a downloadable PDF and as an HTML-accessible page.

  2. Apply through the portal

    SAMS / PG-SAMS for State portal programmes; University admission portal for BBA, MBA, M.Phil., and Ph.D.

  3. Counselling and seat allotment

    Allotment as per merit, reservation, and choice-filling. Communicated by SMS, email, and student dashboard.

  4. Reporting and verification

    Online document verification followed by physical reporting at the College or University. Aadhaar-based authentication where lawful.

  5. Fee payment and registration

    Fee payment via the State payment gateway. APAAR and ABC ID issued post-registration.

Reservation policy

Vikram Dev University implements the State and Central reservation matrices in full, with the following principal categories. The matrix is applied at every stage of admission and seat allotment:

Three districts of the University's jurisdiction (Koraput, Malkangiri, and Rayagada) are scheduled areas under the Fifth Schedule of the Constitution. Special provisions apply for in-district candidates in selected programmes; see the prospectus.

Fee structure

Programme-wise fee structure for the academic year is published as part of the prospectus. All University fees are payable through the State payment gateway and are reflected in real time in the student dashboard. The University does not accept cash payments at any counter. Receipts are digitally signed and may be verified through the DigiLocker integration.

Scholarships and financial assistance

  • OASIS: Odisha's scholarship disbursement portal. SC, ST, OBC, and minority scholarships are routed through OASIS to admitted students.
  • National Scholarship Portal (NSP): Centrally-administered scholarship schemes including Post-Matric and Top-Class.
  • Maharaja Sri Vikram Deo Verma Founder's Scholarship: instituted by the University for in-district scheduled-area students of demonstrated academic merit. Two seats per programme per year.
  • Programme-specific assistantships for postgraduate and research students.
